TRUST / HANDOVER

Delivery is not just about "sending a video."

Different projects require different files. The safest approach is to list exactly what you need to receive before starting.

Buyer question:What files should I receive when the final video is delivered?

At a minimum, confirm the format and aspect ratio of the final video; whether subtitles, thumbnails, source files, project files, and raw footage are included must be written into the project delivery checklist.

A good fit if…

  • Need to hand over the video to operations, sales, or other teams for further use
  • Have delivery requirements for multiple platforms, languages, or aspect ratios
  • Care about how files are stored and who can use them

Not a fit if…

  • Assume all source files are inherently included in every quote
  • Ask for project files for the first time on the day of delivery
  • Do not keep your own backup of important raw footage

01

Output format

Different platforms have different requirements

MP4, transparent backgrounds, specific bitrates, or resolutions should be confirmed in advance.

02

Source files

May require organization

Project files, editable subtitles, or raw footage packaging will increase handover work.

03

Number of versions

Each version must be checked

Languages, aspect ratios, and versions without subtitles all need to be checked individually.

How to start

Follow these three stepsto begin the project.

  1. STEP 01

    Create a checklist before starting

Write down the required duration, aspect ratio, file format, and whether subtitles are needed.

  2. STEP 02

    Preview during the first version

Check if text, logos, audio, and composition are suitable for the final platform.

  3. STEP 03

Check item by item during delivery

Use the checklist to confirm files can be opened, are clearly named, and are the correct versions.

Risks to know first

State uncertainty before work begins.

Misunderstanding source files

"Source files" may refer to project files, raw footage, or editable files; you must specify exactly what you mean.

Long-term storage

Platforms do not replace your long-term backups; you should keep your own copies of important files.

Omission of usage rights

Receiving files does not automatically grant you unlimited usage rights for all music, fonts, or assets.
