Organization time
Clear naming speeds things up
Clear filenames, versions, and purposes mean the production team spends less time guessing.
GUIDE / SOURCE FILES
It is not about having more files, but ensuring others know what is usable, which is the final version, and what cannot be shared.
Buyer question:What files should be prepared before handing over to an editor?
Prepare at least: usable raw footage, final script, brand logo/colors, 2–3 references, deadline, and known licensing restrictions.

Corrupted or low-res assets are limited
Files that cannot be opened, have watermarks, or are over-compressed may require alternatives.
Missing key shots changes the scope
Online projects do not include live-action; missing content must be solved with existing assets or digital visuals.
How to start
Categorize by 'Raw Footage, Script, Brand, References, Licensing'.
Do not name multiple versions 'final'; clearly state the usable version.
Tell the other party which clips must be used and which must not be used.
Risks to know first
Music, people, screenshots, and third-party logos may have usage restrictions.
Do not include accounts, client data, or unreleased information in unnecessary assets.
Freeze a final script before delivery to avoid constant subtitle changes.
